Getting started

Is Taide available yet?

Taide is coming soon to Google Play for Android. Join the waiting list for one email when it launches. An iPhone version hasn't been decided.

What can I do for free?

Browse museum artworks, explore Curated Themes and artists, set any artwork as your wallpaper yourself, and save unlimited favourites. You can also let the free daily highlight change your wallpaper each morning.

What requires Taide Pass?

Taide Pass adds automatic rotation of themes, movements, artists, colours and your collections, plus Times of day and Colour relay. It also lets you create personal collections and save colours. Current plans and prices are shown in the app before you buy.

Does Taide show ads?

No. Taide has no ads, whether or not you have Taide Pass.

Do I need an account?

No Taide account or sign-in is needed. Favourites and collections are kept on your phone. Pass purchases and restores use your Google Play account.

Using Taide

How do I set a painting as my wallpaper?

Open any artwork and tap Set as wallpaper. Choose the home screen, the lock screen or both, and adjust the crop for each before you confirm.

My rotating wallpaper stopped changing.

Some phones pause apps in the background to save battery. In Android's Settings > Apps > Taide > Battery, choose Unrestricted (the wording varies by phone maker). Then open Taide once to restart the rotation.

How does Times of day know when the sun sets?

From your approximate location, rounded to about 10 km, which stays on your phone. You can choose a city or fixed hours instead, under Settings > Light for times of day. Read more in our privacy policy.

Can I hide some kinds of art?

Yes. Nudes and other mature art are hidden until you turn on Show spicy artworks in Settings. You can also hide religious art there. Hidden art stays out of search, themes, collections and wallpaper rotation.

Will I lose my favourites if I change phones?

Taide keeps your favourites and collections on your phone. If Android backup is on, they move with your Google account when you set up a new phone. A wallpaper rotation doesn't move with them: start it again on the new phone.

How do I delete my data?

Everything Taide keeps is on your phone. Uninstall the app, or clear its storage in Android's Settings > Apps > Taide > Storage. There's no account to close.

An artwork's details look wrong.

Artwork details come from the museums. Tell us the title and what looks off, and we'll check and pass it on.
