Terms of service
Effective 8 October 2026
Taide is free to download for enjoying public-domain museum art as your wallpaper, with optional Taide Pass purchases. These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use it.
Who we are
Taide is made by Utra Consulting (business ID 3438677-3), based in Joensuu, Finland ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@taideapp.com.
Using Taide
- Taide has no Taide accounts or ads. Free features remain available without a purchase. Optional Taide Pass plans are purchased through Google Play; you will not be charged without choosing and confirming a purchase.
- You may use the app for your own personal enjoyment, including setting any artwork in it as your wallpaper on your own devices.
- Please don't misuse the service: no copying our database or images in bulk, no automated requests to our servers outside the app, and nothing that disrupts the service for others.
Taide Pass purchases
The paywall and Google Play checkout show the features included, price, currency, billing period and any offer conditions before you buy. The displayed checkout terms apply to your selected plan. RevenueCat validates purchases and manages your Pass status on our behalf; its data processing is described in our privacy policy.
- Monthly and yearly subscriptions: automatically renew for the period and price shown by Google Play unless you cancel. Any price changes are handled through Google Play's applicable notice and approval process.
- Trials and offers: a trial or discount applies only if explicitly offered at checkout. The checkout explains its duration, eligibility and subsequent price. A store subscription trial renews into the paid plan unless canceled before the deadline shown. We do not promise a trial with every plan.
- Lifetime option: a one-time purchase provides ongoing Taide Pass access without recurring renewal charges. It is not a subscription and does not need cancellation to prevent further billing. Your mandatory consumer rights still apply if the service changes or ends.
- Cancellation: manage your subscription in Google Play > Payments and subscriptions > Subscriptions. Taide's purchase-management screen can help you reach the available management options. Cancellation normally stops the next renewal, while access continues until the end of the paid period. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data or requesting data deletion does not cancel a subscription.
- Restoration: use Restore purchases in Taide with the Google Play account used for the purchase. Active subscriptions and eligible one-time purchases can be restored without a Taide sign-in. Refunded, revoked or expired purchases may no longer grant access.
- Refunds: you can request a refund through Google Play's refund process, or contact us at support@taideapp.com for purchase problems. Eligibility depends on applicable law and Google's policies. Cancellation does not itself guarantee a refund, and nothing here removes statutory withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights.
We may improve or change features over time. If a change materially affects purchased access, we will give appropriate notice and provide any remedies required by applicable law. Our general service and liability clauses below do not override obligations owed to paying consumers.
The artworks
The paintings, prints and drawings in Taide are in the public domain and come from museums that share their collections openly, such as The Met, the Finnish National Gallery, the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. See Credits for the sources and photographers.
Our own work in the app (the curated themes, descriptions, notes, design and code) belongs to us. You're welcome to share screenshots of the app.
No guarantees
We work hard to keep Taide running and its information accurate, but we provide it "as is". Artwork details come from the museums and may contain mistakes. The service may sometimes be unavailable, and we may change or remove features.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses from using Taide. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll say so in the app or on this page before it takes effect. You can stop using Taide at any time by uninstalling it; cancel any renewing subscription separately in Google Play.
Law
These terms are governed by Finnish law. If you're a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live and can bring a claim there.
